UX Trends and Predictions For 2022

ui/ux trends and predictions

Was 2021 better than 2020? It depends on how we look at things. However, if we consider UI and UX trends designs, I would say yes, it was better. There were a lot of new applications, as well as software for app development created. All of this just showed that when designers are obliged to stay at home (thanks to the pandemic), their creativity seems to flow.

With this in mind, let’s check what are the UX trends and predictions for 2022? Will it be such a creative year as the previous one? What are the trends for 2022?

1. Device Synchronization

This fist trend might be the most important one, having in mind that it somehow directly influences all other trends. We must be aware that people don’t use apps because they are good, but because they are available. There are a variety of apps out there, cheaper, more expensive, or even full of functionalities. The choice of app is not the problem. The problem is, whether the app is synchronized and can be available on a personal computer, laptop, ipad, smartwatch, or whatever device they are using.
This is important not only for the business, but also for any ordinary person. The “usability” in 2022 means that all of the research and data can be accessed on each device, at any time. With the UX Builder Platform you can start developing your mobile app today.

2. Mobile-First Design

This is complementary to the first trend. People use mobile phones/apps for almost everything nowadays. From booking flights, to exercising, online shopping, online classes, talking with friends, and many many more. And all of this is managed on the go!
This is why it is important when developing an app, with customer experience in mind, to start with the smallest of screens: mobiles. It is only then, adopted on every device, that will turn visitors into customers.

3. Cross-Application Design

This trend is especially visible with the FinTech companies, however, it is equally important for all of the businesses. A company that collaborates and connects with other applications should have sublink and clear guidelines on what is the purpose and what is the use of the app.

4. ID Authentication

With time passing and constant technology changes and developments, today there are several ways to confirm identity. From fingertip scan, to face ID and the traditional number password. All of these approaches present a different type of challenge. How to display the login display when there is someone right behind our back? What to do when face ID doesn’t recognize the face? Is it smart to use a passport scan?

Some of these questions were solved over the years, however, the main problem remains. How to protect privacy? What is the way to show users that our app is better and secure than the others when it comes to user identity and data protection? How to use this as a positive marketing strategy in our favor? These are some of the questions/challenges that will be demanding to be figured out with the UX trends design development in 2022.

5. Emotional Design

Last, but not least, the emotional design will get you even more traction. Whether you are using a smartwatch, mobile, tablet or laptop, you are showing your content on some device. Sometimes it is to track your exercise, other times to track your money spending. And what is the app doing for you? It gives you feedback on your activity, an icon (if you are using mobile, smartwatch) or even a more complex image (a splash-screen sometimes).

You just broke your own record in the running app. Even better, you managed to save more money this month. Congratulations to you! This is how app designers, through designing messages that are combinations of text, video or audio, are praising their users. In the long run, this is what creates customer loyalty. Be aware that the role of emotional design will only grow in the future.
